for pickup by huge C-47s which delivered other supplies--some gliders
are flown out in conventional method and others must be peiked

the "fly-by"--in some cases, cables break from sudden stress,causing som
damage--pilot is okay--tractors first move the gliders into position
and then the takeoff operations
