BREMERTON, WASH: (At Puget
October 1945
Sound Navy Yard--long pan,part of Navy yard with
battleship and carrier in drydock, pan to nearby hill vhererair
raid
shelter is built=-hs battleship and hillside--outsid shelter entrance
converted into telephone exchange--sailors enter,leave--telephone
sign
above shelter entrance--int.comfortable furnishings,etc--sialors place
calls with girl attendant at enter phone booths--girls at
work on switchboards (11 a.m.nationwide phone strike which lasted four
hours started)--girls pull out all plugs and walk out-omanager posting
valkout notice and closing door=-tunnel entrance to the shelter--car
lrive in on inspection trip=-headlights of car travelling thru dim
