cruisers USS BROOKLYN and USS NASHVILLE to the Chilean Navy--Chile
Amb.delRio and VAdm. Holger of Chile Navy board the BROOKLYN and are
greeted by RAdm. Roscoe E.Schuirmann,USN,Commandant--ceremonies of the
flag hoisting makes the BROOKLYN now the "GENERAL O'HIGGINS" and the
NASHVILLE becomes the "CAPTAIN PRAT"
few days later,under simi
lar MDAP agreement, the BRAZILIAN Navy takes over the cruisers USS
PHILADELPHIA and USS ST.LOUIS--ceremonies with Brazilian Charge-de-
Affaires Afranio Melo Franco and RADM Araujo of Brazil Navy,also from
RADM Schufruamn, who escorts Mrs. Vera Sauer, Brazil's Consul in Philawe
