Oahu,Hawaii, scenes of the USS PICKEREL, a guppy-
snorkel type submarine surfaces from depth of 150ft.with a 48-degree
up-angle--purpose of operation was to evaluate capabilities and char-
acteristics of a Type II Guppy-snorkel sub--under normal conditions,
subs emerge with almost no up-angle--another sub USS SABALO tracked
PICKEREL and relayed information to cameraman on deck so
he
could
keep
camera trained on spot where PICKEREL would surface (tracked by
SONAR)-
(NOTE:There is PROBABLY couple scs.of USS SABALO-check film,please)-
