PT. BARROW, ALASKA: ( members
of "Operation Ski Jump" building their first igloo
research plane, and P2V prepare for reconnaissance
flight over polar wastes with wheels and skis on planes--R4D takeoff--
sea smoke looking very much like fog which occurs only in sub-zero
temperatures--plane flying over old Ico--RAD landing and testing ice-
members of "Ski Jump"using chain saw and ice auger to bore thru a Imost
4k feet of ice--mechanics working on plane's motor and putting shield
around prop to keep bitter cold from freezing motor--emblem painted on
P2V plane==map showing ice islands T-1, T-2 & T-3 which this crew is
keeping under surveillance--B-29 flying over rugged terrain on
SEPUVER
