French airport officials fly into BIA and Qleiaat

Officials from Aeroports de Paris, the authority that manages Charles de
Gaulle and Orly airports, are in town to see whether it can work on future
projects at Beirut and Qleiaat airports.
Michel Scarbonchi, who is heading the mission, said the French authority is
looking to export its savoir faire and ???is ready to do things in this
country??? as part of its international strategy.
Under a French-Lebanese protocol signed in 1996, Aeroports de Paris has
already provided technical assistance and some equipment to Beirut
International Airport.
Officials from the French authority will meet on Tuesday with Salim Hoss
and
senior officials from the ministry of transport to discuss possible
participation in build-operate-transfer projects at airports here or taking
