report for Clinton Administration
BACKGROUND:
In 1995, under Executive Order 12963, the President
created the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS under the Department
of Health and Human Services. Since that time, the Council has issued
annual reports to the Clinton Administration expressing the Councill,s
recommendations for policies concerning HIV/AIDS prevention and services.
As the Council prepares for its last months serving under the
Clinton Administration, it has compiled a final progress report detailing
its hopes for the conclusion of the President S term and recommendations
for the next administration.

OUTLINE OF
EVENTS: The Chair of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS
will make some brief introductory remarks. Subsequently, PACHA members
will overview and present the President with their final report.
Following the presentation, the President will make some short remarks
regarding the Council and the significance of the final report after which
the Vice President will also make some remarks on the report. Finally,
there will be a short question and answer session.
REMARKS: Yes. A draft from the Office of National AIDS Policy will
be submitted to speechwriting for review and revision.
