MEMORANDUM FOR BRUCE REED

SUBJECT: Meeting With Communications Workers of America
Today you will be meeting with CWA on welfare reform; Mike Lux
will attend as well. The meeting was set up on the suggestion of
AFSCME. It is an informal meeting that should be similar in
format to your meetings with AFSCME and SEIU where you will give
an overview of the guiding principles and where we are, listen to
their issues of concern, etc. I will follow up on the staff
level to link them up with Jeremy Ben-Ami and the issue groups
for more frequent contact as appropriate.
From CWA, the following will attend:
Morton Bahr, President
George Kohl, Research Director
Hall Sisson, Headquarters Staff - Legislative Representative
They are sending over some information on welfare reform, which I
will get up to you as soon as it arrives.
