WHEREAS, Child Abuse State Grants serve a distinctly different purpose than
discretionary grant activities, and the need for increased knowledge and research on child
abuse and neglect remains critical to efforts to combat the increased incidence;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the National Council of State Human Service
Administrators (NCSHSA) opposes cuts to CAPTA programs, including Child Abuse
State Grants, Child Abuse Discretionary Grants, and Community Based Family Resource
and Support Grants;
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the NCSHSA supports increased
funding for Child Abuse State Grants.

Human Service Administrators
