Subject: HPB one-pager
When I first suggested posting the HPB one-pager on the web, the response
from people here was surprisingly negative. Some expressed the view that
State agency staff and advocates, unlike press, would not find answers to
their (relatively detailed questions) in the one-pager -- they would have to
go into the rule itself. Also, someone pointed out that the rule (I think
it's the preamble actually) contains a summary of the differences b/w the
NPRM and the final rule. Someone else noted that we have not hitherto put
summaries of published rules on the web and there doesn't seem to be much
demand for such documents.
In light of your strong feelings on the matter, however, I tried to canvass a
few more people today. I haven't heard back from them yet. Also, it's not
clear if our web people who would do the posting are in this week.
I'm out the rest of the week but will call in to see if this can be resolved.
