    "ocrText": "HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON'S LIFELONG COMMITMENT\nTO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES\n1970\nWorked on issues affecting families of migrant laborers through\nthe Washington Research Project (Children's Defense Fund).\n1972 - 1973\nAs a legal researcher at the Carnegie Council on Children,\nstudied children's rights to health care and education.\n1973\nGraduated from Yale Law School, after extending her law\nstudies to include a fourth year to study child development and\nother children's issues while working at the Yale Child Study\nCenter in New Haven.\n1973 - 1974\nWorked on a range of legal issues concerning children as a staff\nattorney at the Children's Defense Fund.\n1974\nWrote about the legal rights of children in a landmark article\nfor the Harvard Education Review, entitled \"Children Under the\nLaw.\"\n1974 - 1976\nJoined the law faculty at the University of Arkansas in\nFayetteville, where she directed the University of Arkansas Legal\nAid Clinic, helping families who could not afford legal\nrepresentation.\n1977\nFounded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, an\nadvocacy group that addresses the needs of children in that state\n(president 1977 - 1984).\n1977\nAuthored a handbook on the legal rights of Arkansas women.\n1978 - 1980\nAs chair of the Legal Services Corporation, worked to improve\nand expand legal service organizations around the country\n(board member 1977 - 1981).\n1979 - 1980\nRecommended new ways to deliver medical services to families\nliving in isolated areas of Arkansas, as chair of the Arkansas\nRural Health Committee.\n1983 - 1984\nLed the effort to reform Arkansas' public schools, as chair of the\nArkansas Education Standards Committee. Mrs. Clinton held\npublic meetings throughout the state, testified before the state\nlegislature, and worked with educators, parents, policy makers"
