Dear Ms. Lovell,
I am enclosing a copy of a letter that was sent to First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton,
dated April 2000. As Head of the Chapter of the Associate Member Group of the non-profit
Association FEMMES d'EUROPE, I would like to call special attention to our Millennium
fundraising project.
We are in the process of compiling a Millennium Cookbook with recipes from our
European Union and Non-Union members consisting of 150 international recipes. We would be
especially honored if Mrs Clinton would send us her favorite recipe to be included in this
publication. The United States is one of our non-EU members.
I would appreciate your assistance in this matter and look forward to receiving a response
in the very near future. On behalf of the Association I would like to thank you for your
assistance. I remain,
Sincerely,
Hody Watters
Head of the Associate Members Group

Brussels, April 2000
Madame,
Please allow me the honor of introducing myself as the Head of the Associate
Group to the Association of European Women in Brussels a non-profit philanthropic
organization with no political ties. The Association of European Women was established in
1976. Women of diverse backgrounds in the Belgian community have come together
volunteering their time toward a common goal to assist the less fortunate women, children and
the handicapped worldwide. The President d'honneur is Mrs PRODI, the spouse of the
President of the European Commission. The Association has 1200 members, all volunteers.
The Associate Group is an international group consisting of ladies from many different
countries that are not members of the European Union. It includes the wives of Ambassadors
and senior representatives of the business community in Brussels and other ladies who
represent the highest levels of Governments accredited to the important diplomatic institutions
in Brussels. We are delighted that the wife of your Ambassador in Belgium is a member of
our group.
Once a year the Association selects important projects worldwide, which will be
supported with financial assistance. To be able to realize our aim, we must raise money.
The contribution of each National group and the Associate group is an essential feature of the
Association. In order to achieve this worthwhile objective, the members organize many events
such as concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, lunches, etc. another important landmark
in the Women of Europe's year is the traditional Christmas Bazaar at the end of the year.
This year the Associate Members have decided to celebrate the millennium by producing an
international cookbook, which will demonstrate their cultural diversity and commitment to
supporting women and children worldwide.

two that will draw on the special heritage and culture of the kitchen of your distinguished
country. For more precise information about the Association of the Women of Europe, J am
sending you hereby enclosed a pamphlet.
Please accept our sincere thanks for your understanding and eventual contribution to
our project, which is extremely important for the success of our fund-raising efforts.

Dear Ms. Mcguire
We are so very excited that you will be a part of our MOM'S Club Cookbook! Your recipe will be a
wonderful addition to our cookbook, while enabling our organization to assist a great charity, The Family
Tree.
As I mentioned in our phone conversation, the Mom's Club is an international non-profit support group for
stay at home mothers. In Howard County alone, we have more than 450 members! We offer our members
a multitude of activities that empower women to feel content in their choice to stay at home with their
children. One of the group's best attributes is that we are active in our community. We wholeheartedly
support philanthropic events that benefit children and families in Howard County.
This year, we have chosen to raise funds for THE FAMILY TREE. This non-profit organization is the
leading Maryland agency in the prevention of child abuse and education in strengthening of families
statewide through its many free community based programs. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the proceeds
though the sales and advertising of this cookbook will benefit THE FAMILY TREE.
We ask that you support our cookbook by submitting a family-friendly recipe to be published along with
your business's name. Your participation will show that you support children and families in the
community. Your recipe adds a celebrity quality to our cookbook and will appear at no charge!
The cookbook will be a professionally designed laminated cookbook. In our marketing, we will distribute
press releases to all major media, list sales via the MOM'S Club and The Family Tree web sites, and
donate a copy to Howard County Public Library so that as many families as possible can enjoy this
publication. We will also seek to create a media sensation by trying to promote the cookbook on local
television news stations.
The deadline for submitting recipes and advertisements is April 17, 2000. I'm sure
that you will want to take advantage of the accessibility to so many community members by placing an
advertisement in our cookbook. I have enclosed an advertising cost sheet for your convenience and 1 am
sure you will find it's well worth the modest tax -deductible cost. We will send you a letter with the
specifics for your tax purposes. Please send submissions to me at the address written above.
I, and the MOM'S Club members, look forward to your support in this wonderful and delicious project!
Sincerely, Linda Ro sparo

Dear Mrs. Clinton,
In celebration of our 25th Anniversary, the Army Officers
Wives' Club of the Greater Washington Area (AOWCGWA) is producing
a Silver Jubilee Cookbook. This cookbook will include recipes
from members both past and present.
Our cookbook will proudly feature a special Honorary
section in which we will showcase recipes from the spouses of
senior military leaders and dignitaries in the greater Washington
area. We invite you to share that special menu for your favorite
meal, informal or family, or social occasion (brunch, reception,
cocktail party, luncheon or dinner). We would welcome the
complete menu for the entire meal and those ever helpful "tricks
of the trade" for entertaining. The Honorary section will
definitely be the highlight of our Jubilee collection.
Enclosed are several recipe forms. Please feel free to
duplicate the forms as necessary or submit in your own format.
The recipes may be returned to me at the address below or emailed
to [email protected]. Please feel free to call me with any
questions.
We are requesting your entries be returned no later than
March 1, 2000. Your prompt response and participation is greatly
appreciated.
