Washington, D.C. 20003 February 24, 1997 s.Maggie Williams The White House 100 OEOB Washington, DC 20500 Dear Maggie, In a few days, I will be leaving the Treasury Department and begin working for TSD, Inc., a firm specializing in information technology and communications strategy. As I begin this new challenge, I wanted you to know of my plans. TSD is an energetic, forward looking company run by my friends Mark and Phil Steitz. They do strategic planning, message development and crisis communications for private clients and progressive causes. On the technology side, they develop custom decision support software, including Internet and Intranet applications. After fourteen years of service on Capitol Hill and four years with the Clinton Administration, I'm excited about making this jump and joining forces with TSD. I've had two great years at Treasury. We were the front line on a lot of critical issues, and Secretary Rubin asked me to take part in them all; struggling with Congress over the debt limit, resolving the Mexican financial crisis, fending off the political attack against ATF, and introducing the new currency and inflation indexed bond, just to name a few. Every day, Bob Rubin proved how good economics, good management, and exceptional public leadership could make life better for working families. He has been an inspiring teacher. Starting March 3rd, my new task is to apply what I have learned these past years to the challenges I will meet at TSD. TSD is located at 1714 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. 20009. My new telephone number will be 202-986-5051; the fax is 202-986-0014; and my email will remain [email protected]. As ! launch this new adventure (my first private sector job since I pumped gas in Amherst during the Bicentennial!), I hope you will be in touch with me there.
