M. Dennis Sculimbrene has filed a lawsuit alleging in part that the White
House maintains files on him in violation of the Privacy Act. To allow us
to respond to these allegations, please conduct a thorough and complete
search of all your records -- whether in hard copy, computer form, or any
other form -- for any of the following material:
Any and all documents relating or pertaining to M. Dennis Sculimbrene.
To the extent that you have responsive documents, please provide a copy
of the file folders or file jackets that the documents were contained in
as well as the documents.
Every employee is responsible for searching his or her own files and
records to ensure a comprehensive search. Each office head or Assistant
to the President must certify that his or her staff has done a complete
and thorough search.
In addition, if you believe that files from your office that have been
sent to the Office of Records Management may contain responsive

well, there is really not a whole lot of "checking" that we can do. i
don't know who this person is--as far as i am aware, he has not appeared
on any comment line reports or tally sheets that we have produced in this
office and we definitely do not have any sort of file on him. i checked
with carrie about how these requests for documents have been handled
previously in this office and i think we have enough of an understanding
of what goes on in the office to be able to say that to the best of our
knowledge we do not have any responsive documents.

well, there is really not a whole lot of "checking" that we can do. i
don't know who this person is--as far as i am aware, he has not appeared
on any comment line reports or tally sheets that we have produced in this
office and we definitely do not have any sort of file on him. i checked
with carrie about how these requests for documents have been handled
previously in this office and i think we have enough of an understanding
of what goes on in the office to be able to say that to the best of our
knowledge we do not have any responsive documents.

I don't have any materials responsive to this request. However, I knew
Mr. Sculimbrene when he worked here and dealt with him on numerous
occasions when people on my staff were having their security clearances
updated. (He was one of several FBI agents over the years who were
assigned to the WH to carry out this responsibility. ) However, I've not
had any contact with him during the Clinton Administration, since I
believe he retired early on in the Admin.

Beth Nolan, Counsel to the President, requesting a search for documents

I don't have any materials responsive to this request. However, I knew
Mr. Sculimbrene when he worked here and dealt with him on numerous
occasions when people on my staff were having their security clearances
updated. (He was one of several FBI agents over the years who were
assigned to the WH to carry out this responsibility.) However, I've not
had any contact with him during the Clinton Administration, since I
believe he retired early on in the Admin.

M. Dennis Sculimbrene has filed a lawsuit alleging in part that the White
House maintains files on him in violation of the Privacy Act. To allow us
to respond to these allegations, please conduct a thorough and complete
search of all your records -- whether in hard copy, computer form, or any
other form -- for any of the following material:
Any and all documents relating or pertaining to M. Dennis Sculimbrene.
To the extent that you have responsive documents, please provide a copy
of the file folders or file jackets that the documents were contained in
as well as the documents.
Every employee is responsible for searching his or her own files and
records to ensure a comprehensive search. Each office head or Assistant

M. Dennis Sculimbrene has filed a lawsuit alleging in part that the White
House maintains files on him in violation of the Privacy Act. To allow us
to respond to these allegations, please conduct a thorough and complete
search of all your records -- whether in hard copy, computer form, or any
other form -- for any of the following material:
Any and all documents relating or pertaining to M. Dennis Sculimbrene.
To the extent that you have responsive documents, please provide a copy
of the file folders or file jackets that the documents were contained in
as well as the documents.
Every employee is responsible for searching his or her own files and
records to ensure a comprehensive search. Each office head or Assistant
to the President must certify that his or her staff has done a complete
and thorough search.
In addition, if you believe that files from your office that have been
sent to the Office of Records Management may contain responsive
information, please advise us so that we may ensure that all responsive

BTW, I think we're going to devote our intern this time around primarily
to you. Carolyn (COS) and we are sharing one intern to cover all our
phones, etc. The thing is he leaves in four weeks, and at that point, we
may want to play double duty with your intern or recruit another one from
another office somewhere what do you think?

REQUEST FOR DOCUMENTS
M. Dennis Sculimbrene has filed a lawsuit alleging in part that the White
House maintains files on him in violation of the Privacy Act. To allow us
to respond to these allegations, please conduct a thorough and complete
search of all your records -- whether in hard copy, computer form, or any
other form -- for any of the following material:
Any and all documents relating or pertaining to M. Dennis Sculimbrene.
To the extent that you have responsive documents, please provide a copy
of the file folders or file jackets that the documents were contained in
as well as the documents.
Every employee is responsible for searching his or her own files and
records to ensure a comprehensive search. Each office head or Assistant
to the President must certify that his or her staff has done a complete
and thorough search.
In addition, if you believe that files from your office that have been
sent to the Office of Records Management may contain responsive
information, please advise us so that we may ensure that all responsive
documents have been located.
All materials must be provided to Shelli Peterson (OEOB Room 482) by noon
on Thursday, September 30, 1999. If you have any questions, Shelli can be
