DCCC fundraiser, Saturday 22 June 1996, Atlanta, GA
On 11 June I spoke with Congressman John Lewis (202-225-3801) who
requested Secretary Rubin to attend a DCCC fundraiser to be held
at 6 p.m. on Saturday 22 June at the home of Alice Hancocks
Chambers. Congressman Lewis and Governor Miller are co-hosting
the event. Originally anticipated to raise $100,000, he said
they already have well over $200,000. All of the funds will go
for Georgia congressional nominees. He said that people are
making contributions to this event who have never contributed to
the Democratic Party before.
Although his first preference is Secretary Rubin, I suspect he
would take another Secretary, if Secretary Rubin cannot go.
