Dear Ms. Trementano:
I hope this letter finds you well. School is out for the summer and I am keeping myself busy with all of my
sidebar activities; the big one is our LA convention. One of the most exciting new technology companies that, as
you know, I have the pleasure of sitting on the Advisory Board of is PlanetGov.com. They had a very successful
launch in May. Since then, they have distributed over 20,000 free Internet access CDs to federal employees and
have received over two million hits to www.planetgov.com in the first two weeks online. They are quickly
becoming an advocate for government and military professionals in the technology field.
I am glad to hear that you are still considering the possibility of having President Clinton conduct an online chat
on PlanetGov.com. I think this is an enticing platform for him to reaffirm his commitment to the government
employee and to the use of technology in the federal workplace. Moreover, this is a great way to communicate
directly with the men and women who have served with him during the past eight years. It offers a hands-on
demonstration of how his administration "wired" the government and an opportunity to highlight his legacy as the
president who prepared the government to work for the country in the 21st century. It may also serve as a line of
communication in the months and years ahead.
I realize that President Clinton's schedule is, needless to say, busy and I appreciate that you are looking for an
available time to have the chat. If I may offer a suggestion, I believe this coming July's Excellence in Government
2000 conference would be a great opportunity to broadcast live during one of the sessions.
This is just one of many possibilities. I know you are as enthusiastic as I am about this event and look forward to
working out a convenient time for the president. I will call you shortly to see if there is any-thing we could do, to
be of help and assistance to you in this matter.
Sincerely,
James B. King
thanks for being there
