RE:
THANK YOU LETTERS
DATE:
8/2/93
Let's see if we can get together later today to coordinate
how "thank you" letters should go out to our respective
constituency groups and to individuals once the legislation is
passed.
So far, Jim, Sharon, and Eric have been entering lists
according to the following categories:
1.
ENDORSEMENTS LISTS
The organization heads would receive letters from Eli
through the mail thanking them specifically for their
endorsements.
2.
OUTREACH LISTS
- info fax
Folks on our general outreach lists would receive faxes of
the press release which will likely go out immediately after
conference.
3.
SPECIAL LISTS
periotters
These people should receive more personal/targetted letters
thanking them for their particular roles in urging Congressional
support, ie;, calls they made to Members, participating in
rallies, etc.
I'll bring sample letters and print outs of preliminary lists
that are already entered to use as discussion pieces.
We should talk about:
- when the material should go out (after the Senate vote or
after conference?)
- how additional entries will be made into the computer
- what the standard letters should say
- where there is overlap for distribution
- any legal restraints on what we can thank them for; and
- any other items you think we should raise
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF 3:30pm TODAY IS NOT OKAY WITH YOU. WE CAN
MEET IN THE BACK ROOM.
