Jim Scheibel, Tom Endres and Tess Scannell participated in several meetings with you last month regarding
the Senior Corps national conference. It was their understanding that you would be scheduling a followup
meeting with the top managers in External Affairs (Rick, J, Gene and Melinda) to commit their resources to
this major Corporation event.
I and the rest of the Senior Corps staff are anxious to begin planning -- is it possible for your staff to put
this meeting together sometime next week or early the following week? Please let me know if that is
possible and if there is anything else we can do. Thanks much!

On October 6, 1995, Shirley will address a group of 60-70 Bonner Scholars from Hood College in
room 8410 from 11:30am-12:00pm. The topic is "national service" in general. Bonner Scholars
are required to complete a summer of service. Suggested topics could be CNS and
Olympics/Paralympics 1996. A representative from Maryland will be talking about local
opportunities for service. The contact for this event is Rebecca Goldman in the Maryland State
Commission office at 410-225-6338.
