Since it started business in 1987, more than 15,000 consumers who might not otherwise have been able to afford an automobile because of low income, credit blemishes, or lack of credit history have been financed by Triple M. Until now, Triple M could fund these consumers only with its own capital or from money borrowed from its affiliated dealers and Ford Motor Credit Company. These limited sources of funding restricted Triple M's ability to originate more automobile loans and leases. This month, Triple M will increase its capacity to finance these consumers by accessing the capital markets through a securitization: The purchasers of the securities being offered by Triple M include Bank of America, TIAA-CREF, Goldman, Sachs, Bank One & Company and Ford Motor Credit Company. Most institutional investors have fiduciary responsibilities limiting their investments to securities rated in the highest categories by one or more of the national rating agencies. Pooling its loans and leases has enabled Triple M to achieve the investment grade rating these trillion-dollar investors require. The investors will be repaid from the payments made each month by Triple M's urban consumers. Excess cashflow from the payments, together with its existing credit lines, will enable Triple M to finance even more of urban customers through expansion into additional urban markets. The securitization will be repeatable, virtually freeing Triple M from funding concerns. Triple M in effect acts as a conduit through which major banks and insurance companies, with only limited risk, can invest in urban communities that may be otherwise unattractive even to smaller banks and finance companies. esables group to more money blond grow infar deleips wats aress in carity Rojal Date Durship, MI by day Fous 97% AA city created 150 jobs ... opp 7y b. put of supportances oh user ceccess mults to corosy optal more country for expaniser Bult, Houster, Atenta, Chicago To: Jonathan KAplan OM: MEL FARR AUTOMOTIVE GROUP/ ADVERTISING & P.R. OFFICE Mel Parr, Sr. was born in the segregated town of Beaumont, Texas on November 4, 1944. The son of a truck driver and a domestic worker, Farr, the youngest of two sons excelled in high school football and went on to earn $ full scholarship at UCLA. He helped lead the Bruins to their first Rose Bowl victory. After setting numerous records on the UCLA gridiron, Mel Farr was the #1 draft pick of the Detroit Lions in his junior year. Farr headed for Detroit in 1967, made All Pro and was NFL "Rookie of the Year." And, during his spare time he managed to become friends with Motown singing sensation and recording artist Marvin Gaye, even singing background vocals on the hit "What's Goin' On" and receiving a gold record for his efforts. For seven years during the off seasons, Farr worked for Ford Motor Company in order to learn both the retail and wholesale sides of the automotive business. When Farr retired in 1974 due to extensive injuries, he assisted Ford Motor Company in the development of its minority dealer training program, and also bought into his first Ford dealership in Oak Park, Michigan. The dealership was struggling financially and had been bankrupt twice. Turning the Oak Park dealership around was a difficult challenge, and Farr almost went out of business. In 1978, Farr bought out his partner and began a television advertising campaign featuring him flying across the sky wearing a red cape, catching the attention of customers from all over Metro Detroit. That was the beginning of Mel Farr the Superstar Dealer as a household name, jump-starting his automotive career and the Mel Farr Automotive Group enterprise.
