says we need a new law making it a federal crime to distribute any pornography on the Internet that could be viewed

Does Alexis still want to chat with me? I certainly would like
to chat for a few whenever she has the time. Schmidt and Allegra
are keeping quite busy these days. Is there a lot of
miscommuication between WH/DOJ team relations? I'm getting this
sense. I know Kimiki Gibson is moving with the E.O. but what is
happening with the "Clean-up" project. I know G. wants to
rule-of-two resolved in a week before his next meeting with the
civil right folks. It looks as though DoD is
finally "coming around."
I just received a very lovely note from the POTUS--I know that
was either G. or Alexis--tell her thank you.
We're trying to get John ready for testimony before Cannady's
committee on Friday. Deval 's been in South Africa for weeks.

leadership of the priest and Christy Brown have established the
Cathedral Heritage Foundation which I have visited in the last
year, an incredible ecumenical endeavor. Christy has been here to
some dinner before, sat next to POTUS, incredible family.

pm.

Tribute to Vivien
It W28 my pleasure on Thursday evening to serve as
the Constimusier for the annual Chamber of Commerce
dimner meeting. The dinner was # grent success, and
everyone seemed to enjoy the event.
As part of the agenda, 1 had intended to recognize
Vivion Norman, not only ns the representative of Con-
gressment James Walsh, but Hiso Individually for her
yours of dedicated service to the local office of our oun-
gressmen. For reasons that daty adequate explanation.
and through my oversight, I neglected to present that
part of my program. I am asking that I now be able to
share with the community the following tribute pro-
pared as # surprise for Vivien:
"I would like las take " moment to recognize Vivion
Norman, who is here tonight representing Congressman
Jim Walsh, as she does, and has done, so capably for so
many years. In fact, Vivien has become an good at
publicly representing our congressmen over the years
that the people of our community never soom disup-
pointed when the congression is unable in appear.
"But we have recently learned that Vivien is going
into what H/V oil consider to he a premitere retirement
some time toward the end of this year. She has served
our last four congressment with great distinction over =
period that spans almost 20 years. She began with Bill
Walsh, then Gary Lee, Frank Horton, and now the next
Walsh generation.
"Vivion has provided # sonse of permanence and
embility in the midst of change. The congression
change, and even the location of their office changes.
If 1 recullect correctly, each congressman has had his
office in a different office building, but Vivion, with
her bright smile and warm personality, has always been
a constant in our lives.
"We understand that retirement will not involve

African American Clergy Report
This is the memo/chart from Ben on all activities of the President with this constituency since
the beginning of the administration. It has NOT been sent into the President, we will wait on
your comments.
Religious Breakfast
This memo was sent to Staff Secretary on Monday, August 21 and is for your information.
We forwarded the list to Ann Stock for invitations to be sent out. While Flo is in Hawaii,
Ann Eder will act as the point person in OPL on the Breakfast.
Mid-East Peace Signing
This memo was sent to Harold on Thursday, August 17 and is for your information. Please
note the section referring to the Prayer Breakfast, just so you are aware of it.
Vespers
We would like to wait and send this memo to the President after Wednesday. Marilyn D. has
a meeting with Father Theroux on Wednesday and she will be able to gather more
