Welcome to Miami, and to the Summit of the Americas 1994.
As world leaders converge here to discuss the future of our hemisphere, and
as the eyes of the world focus on Miami for three historic days, they will
discover a new world city -- the Capital of the Americas.
It is no accident that Miami was chosen to host this event. No other place
embodies the spirit, meets the challenges, or leads the way as Miami does.
Our multiethnic diversity and geographic location puts Miami at the
forefront of business, commerce, trade, culture and overall quality of life, and
it is my hope that you will enjoy a pleasant and productive visit to our state.
