DROP-BY AT THE NATIONAL WOMEN'S ECONOMIC AGENDA
COMMISSION
On Friday, January 27 we will be hosting a briefing for the
National Women's Economic Agenda Commission. This commission was
created by our long-time supporter Linda Tarr-Whelan of the
Center for Policy Alternatives.
The meeting will serve as the first meeting of the commission as
well as kick-off the Women's Voices for the Economy campaign the
commission is undertaking. The mission of the campaign is to
"unite women across race and class into a strong voice for a new
economy" in a way that enable women to become fully involved in
driving the country's economy forward. Included in this effort
is educating women on the new economy that will come with job
growth, improved education and retraining initiatives, higher
minimum wage and the middle-class bill of rights.
It would be a great honor for these women if the President would
be able to drop by and greet them during their first meeting. It
would also demonstrate the support you have for the role women
play in the economy and the importance of the steps being taken
to help the middle-class worker, especially the working women.
The women attending this event are key women leaders from across
the country. They are highly supportive of the administration
and are invaluable for spreading the word on the administration's
economic achievements to the far reaching and diverse women they
influence by their work.

Women's Leadership Working Dinner

PURPOSE:
The purposes of this meeting are:
for the participants to outline (1) their analysis of what happened in '94, and (2) their
concerns about how outreach has lapsed since 1992;
to outline our plan for coordinated outreach to women and to get feedback on it; and
to discuss the economic/family message for reaching women.
GOAL:
To instill a sense of confidence that the administration is aware of the problems they are
raising, to gain support for the system we are developing to focus on women's outreach, and
to outline a role for this group.
PARTICIPANTS:
The following women have been invited to this dinner; they represent a subset of a larger
group that Lynn convenes regularly. (It is a subset because we wanted to keep the meeting
small to allow for a real working session, and to accommodate space limitations at Lynn's
house.)

WOMEN'S MEDIA ADVISORY GROUP
According to Carol Edgar, Swanee is unable to raise the necessary funding. If this is the
case, what is the next step for the Media Advisory Group.
I have confirmed all participants for the Group except Susan King. We are scheduled to
meet next Friday, March 10, 1995, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Room 476, OEOB. We then
will move to the Roosevelt Room with the Women's Sub Cabinet Group to hear Celinda
Lake discuss her polling results.
