others to effectively block them. This is exactly the situation
that existed prior to Roe. We will return to the days when
desperate women will be forced to travel hundreds of miles for
abortions. As the expense and the difficulty rise, more women will
chose illegal and dangerous abortions. The poor will suffer the
most, but even the middle class may be driven to illegal abortions.
Prior to Roe, illegal abortions were the third largest racket after
gambling and narcotics.
