watch.

The PRESIDENT is seen in decision mode: pacing,
pondering, and in thoughtful repose. He stares out
the windows at the South Lawn, like Kennedy during
the missile crisis.
Finally, he reaches for the red phone. A pause.

Vladimir. Hi.
What's a 5-letter word for a "tasty Russian
pancake"?

STUART
INT. WEST WING HALLWAY
OPEN ON STUART, photocopying his face. The
PRESIDENT, catching him in the act, shakes his
head with disdain and walks on.

VENDING MACHINE
INT. WHITE HOUSE BASEMENT
The PRESIDENT stands before a "Jack 'n' Jill Ice
Cream" vending machine. He inserts a dollar bill.
The machine spits it out. And again, and again.
He pauses, vexed, staring at the machine. He casts a
quick look over his shoulder and, seeing no one, lifts
the door and sticks his hand into the machine, trying
to pry loose an ice cream sandwich.
He looks around, gives the machine a good hard kick,
and rocks it a little. He extracts, with pride, an ice
cream sandwich. He holds it up as UPBEAT MUSIC
begins: Djángo Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli
playing "I Got Rhythm."
We now see a montage of a happier PRESIDENT,
enjoying his freedom in a nearly empty White
House as UPBEAT MUSIC continues to play.

The PRESIDENT and BUDDY are watching "101
Dalmatians" and enjoying large quantities of
popcorn.

on either side of an open door.
Through the door frame, we see the PRESIDENT

The PRESIDENT takes a full swing with a driver and
watches the golf ball as it sails into the distance.
CUT TO:
A CAR in a parking lot, beneath a sign that says
"Reserved for Chairman Burton." The ball squarely
hits the car.
CUT BACK TO:
The PRESIDENT, who pumps his fist with glee.

INT. WEST WING HALLWAY
OPEN ON STUART still photocopying his face. The
PRESIDENT approaches, taps him on the shoulder
and gestures for him to follow.

INT. OVAL OFFICE
The PRESIDENT sits at his desk in front of a laptop
as STUART goads him on from over his shoulder,
gesturing and gyrating. The PRESIDENT is heeding
his advice and clearly enjoying himself.

The PRESIDENT and STUART are at the vending
machine. The President is demonstrating how to
extract free ice cream sandwiches. He pulls out two
and hands one to STUART.

off together, smiling, laughing and enjoying their ice
