This agreement is issued under the authority of the Computer Security Act of

By signing this agreement, I signify my understanding and acceptance of the

President Data Center (EOPDC) computer systems.
For the purposes of this agreement, the term "exceeds authorized access" is
taken directly from 18 U.S.C. § 1030, "Fraud and Related Activity in

authorization and to use such access to obtain or alter information in the
computer that the accesser is not entitled to obtain or alter.
I hereby acknowledge that I have received a copy of 18 U.S.C. § 1030 which
in general terms provides criminal punishment for the following conduct:
a.
Anyone who intentionally accesses an EOPDC computer without
authorization and such conduct affects the use of the
government's operation of such computer.
b.
Anyone who knowingly with intent to defraud, accesses an

access, and by means of such conduct obtains anything of value.
c.
Anyone who intentionally accesses an EOPDC computer without

a value aggregating $1,000 or more during any one period.
d.
Anyone who knowingly and with intent to defraud, traffics in
any password or similar information through which an EOPDC
computer may be accessed without authorization.
I acknowledge that I may be held accountable for any unauthorized use of my
LogonID for the purposes of accessing EOPDC computer systems. Any such
unauthorized access may subject me to a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1030. The
first violation of this and related statutes could subject me to termination of my
employment, a fine, and/or imprisonment (ranging from one to five years).
Additionally, I hereby acknowledge the following:
1.
I will not enter classified information into the EOPDC computer
systems.
2.
I will create my own personal password the first time I logon to the

3.
I will protect my personal password from disclosure. My password is
used to authenticate my identity and I will not allow its use by another
person, code it into programs or write it down where it will be
assessable to others.
4.
I will logoff my terminal or personal computer when it is unattended.
5.
I will immediately relinquish the LogonID when access is no longer
required or upon request by the EOP/OA Information Security Officer,

Office of Speechwriting
OEOB 190
The White House
Washington, DC 20502
Dear Mr. Waldman:
I am writing to apply for the position of Personal Assistant to the Chief of Speechwriting.
Sabrina Corlette informed me of the opening and suggested that I forward my résumé directly to
you.
I believe that my most important qualification for the job is flexibility. I am a quick and
cager learner and a hard worker. I try in my work to keep my viewpoint broad, to think about
"why" and "how", and not just "who", "what", and "where". This makes my work more
effective. It allows me to anticipates questions and then take the initiative to produce workable,
creative answers. It also helps me deal with high pressure and crises with a solid sense of
direction and a steady head
I understand that the job involves some research and analysis. I developed skills in these
areas in my academic work, which included three research seminars and courses in statistics and
economics. They have been further honed in my present position as a Legal Assistant, where I use
them every day.
As you can see from the enclosed résumé, I have been a strong supporter of the President
since the 1992 campaign. 1 am eager now to serve his administration in a different capacity.
I would be happy to discuss my qualifications with you further. I can be reached at home
at the above phone number, or at work at (617) 891-7020. Nook forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
David P. Pento

Dear Sabrina and June,
Thank you for publicizing the job in the office of the Director of Speechwriting and taking the time
to speak about it with me:
I realize that the position is primarily administrative. The opportunity to observe and contribute to
the President's reelection campaign coupled with my sense that work responsibilities often shift
rapidly in times of pressure diminishes any concerns I might feel about the content of this job.
Given the late date I had expected few positions of any kind to be available in the White House.
As you can see from my attached resume, I have worked for the past two years at Wolfensohn &
Co., Inc., an investment bank providing mergers and acquisitions advice to a select group of
multinational corporations. My job at Wolfensohn involves substantial research, analysis and
writing - including presentations to boards of directors and the investor community and verbal
scripts for use in negotiations by senior executives.
My prior experience primarily involves research and writing. Immediately before joining
Wolfensohn I traveled to Morocco to research and write a travel guide in the "Let's Go" series. In
high school and college I spent three years working as a paid reporter for a business-oriented
newspaper. I ran a journal of philosophy at Harvard and ran the student newspaper at Princeton
High School. My only prior campaign experience came as a clerk at the New York Times's
temporary Manchester bureau during the 1992 primaries.
My commitment to Wolfensohn runs through July 26.
Again, I appreciate your help in exploring this opportunity. Working - in whatever capacity -- for
the reelection of a President in whom I believe in the office of the Director of Speechwriting is my
"dream job" as best I know it.
I can be reached most easily at work at 212-909-0894.
Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:
For the period starting May 1995 through May 1996, New Media Publishing grew from
one full-time staff member to slightly over twenty. These employees dedicated their time
to building New Media Publishing into a leading strategic Internet consulting and web
development firm. Our clients include some of the most influential advocacy groups (the
ACLU, World Wildlife Fund, EMILY's List, NARAL, the Feminist Majority, the Nature
Conservancy), the largest associations (International Association of Machinists and
Aerospace Workers, the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, Business Products
Industry Association), and large corporations (Pfizer, Eli Lilly, MCI).
Jamshid Mousavinezhad was a key player in NMP's growth over that first year and was, in
fact, our first full-time hire. To say that he was "important" in managing and developing
relationships with clients is a gross understatement. He was critical. A quickly growing
business in an industry that is changing at warp speed requires a lot from the people who
are keeping the engine running. To this extent, Jamshid wore many "hats" - researcher,
writer, consultant, web page developer, trainer, project manager - and was quick to learn
and apply new skills.
While only recently graduated from school, Jamshid demonstrated incredible knowledge of
government, industry, and the dynamics of politics. Additionally, Jamshid's writing and
oral communication skills are unlike any I have ever encountered in someone even close to
his age. While Jamshid was still a student, we comfortably put him to the task of running
meetings and providing consulting services to top decision-makers at the ACLU, the
Feminist Majority, NARAL, and EMILY's List.
Jamshid was also able to effectively manage multiple clients, conduct first-rate primary
research, and delegate tasks to others. He was well-respected by other staff members as
well as by the clients he served.
Jamshid left on excellent terms to pursue other career interests, but given the chance, I
would hire him again without hesitation. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with
you over the phone to discuss his qualifications in greater detail, but can assure you that
he will be an incredible asset.
Sincerely,
In Han

Recycled Paper
Dear Sir:
My name is Jamshid Mousavinezhad, and I am writing to apply for a position with the
Clinton/Gore campaign. I believe that I would bring a strong mix of experience and
skills to the campaign, not to mention energy and passion.
I am currently employed as a project manager with New Media Publishing, an Internet
consulting firm. My position centers around the creation and maintenance of World
Wide Web sites for clients as the American Civil Liberties Union, World Wildlife Fund,
the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, and the Feminist
Majority. As senior project manager I am responsible for all aspects of the process, from
writing the initial assessment audit to facilitating sign-off sessions with client principals
and the programmers and graphic artists that comprise my team.
My prior experience working on the Hill and on campaigns at the local level have
provided me with a base of practical political knowledge. I am intelligent and hard-
working, with strong written and oral communications skills. Most importantly, I believe
in the importance of re-electing President Clinton and Vice-President Gore. My recent
work with such organizations as NARAL and the ACLU has only solidified this belief. I
have a lot to offer the Clinton-Gore campaign, and look forward to setting up an
interview at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
anishid Jandid Mousavinezhad

Re: Summer Internship
Dear Ms. Tamagni:
I am a student at Columbia University, and I am very interested in
assisting you with speech writing this summer. Presently, I am working
to complete the Writing Program at Columbia. This semester, I am working
for the Wallace Literary Agency in New York City, reviewing book
manuscripts for publication.
I have been writing professionally since I was fifteen years old.
I worked as a free-lance reporter for the Washington Jewish Week
newspaper in 1994. The following year, I worked as the editorial intern
for that same paper, writing and editing articles. During the summer of
1996, I worked in that same capacity for the Montgomery Gazette
newspapers.
I was also the editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper. During
my term as editor, the paper was named the Best High School newspaper in
the state by the Maryland Scholastic Press Association.
My first college semester recently ended. I earned an A or A- in
all of my courses, and I received the only A given in Logic and Rhetoric,
my expository writing course. I will complete the internship
application, and send it to the appropriate White House office in the
very near future. I am including my resume' and college transcript. I
would be happy to provide writing samples and references upon your
request.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Abigail B. Krauser
