Jon,
Probably the hottest issue for the context of the event is that
one of the agents (Leonard) from the President's detail had just left the
detail and moved to Oklahoma City for a more sedate life. He was one of
the 169 killed in the bombing. The President and AG attended Agent
Leonard's funeral (not sure if the VP attended). The agent's widow, Diane
Leonard, is one of the key victim people out in Oklahoma City. VP should
definitely recognize Ms. Leonard and also a staff person should make sure
that he sees her in the hold (AG knows her and can help break the ice - -
let me know SO we brief her).
