    "ocrText": "CIVIC FORUM\n- 2 -\nC. The guarantee of twenty=five hundred dollars ($8,500.00)\nto the Lecturer is understood to be included in his proportionate share\nof profit as stated in sections Fifth, Sixth and Seventh.\nD. The expenses for advertising and booking, mentioned under\nA of this section, shall not include any salary allowance to any officer\nor officers of the Bureau or to the Bureau's agents or assigns.\nNINTH. The Bureau is at liberty to sub-let the booking of any\nengagement or engagements to any concern or individual, subject, however\nto the approval of the Lecturer before such arrangement shall be\nsidered binding.\nTENTH. The Bureau agrees that the Lecturer shall be required\nto do only a reasonable amount of traveling between engagements\nELEVENTH. The Lecturer shall have the right to veto the\npublication of any advertisements or announcements to the form or\ncharacter of which he objects.\nTWELFTH. The parties to this contract agree that payment\nshall be made by the Bureau to the Lecturer or his representative as\nfollows:\nA. The sum of six hundred dollars ($600.00) or a proportionate\namount of the monthly guarantee shall be paid by the Bureauto the Lextur\ner on Saturday of each week, over and above transportation expenses of\nthe Lecturer.\nB. On every fourth Saturday, following the beginning of the\nlecture tour, a statement of receipts and expenditures of the tour to\nsuch date, showing the amount then due to the Lecturer, shall be sent\nto him with whatever balance may be due him in accordance with the\nterms of this agreement.\nTHIRTEENTH. If the Lecturer should be unable through ill-\nness to fulfill any engagement made for him by the Bureau, the guarantee\nand any other payments due to the Lecturer shall be proportionately\nreduced, but the Lecturer shall not be subject to any further financial\npenalty by reason of the cancellation of dates on account of illness.\nThe Lecturer agrees, however, to exercise every reasonable precaution\nand endeavor to fulfill the engagements contracted for him.\nFOURTEENTH. In case of a lecture sold at a fixed fee, the\namount of that fee shall not be less than $300.00 except by the\nspecific consent of the Lecturer.\nFIFTEENTH. The Lecturer agrees to extend this contract to a\nlonger period than three months on the same terms as those of this agree-\nment in case he decided to lecture further in America.\nSIXTEENTH. The Lecturer agrees not to make any public appear-\nanoes while in America during the period of this agreement or prior thereto,\nexcept in accordance with the terms of the agreement or with the approval\nof the Bureau."
