C. The guarantee of twenty=five hundred dollars ($8,500.00)
to the Lecturer is understood to be included in his proportionate share
of profit as stated in sections Fifth, Sixth and Seventh.
D. The expenses for advertising and booking, mentioned under
A of this section, shall not include any salary allowance to any officer
or officers of the Bureau or to the Bureau's agents or assigns.
NINTH. The Bureau is at liberty to sub-let the booking of any
engagement or engagements to any concern or individual, subject, however
to the approval of the Lecturer before such arrangement shall be
sidered binding.
TENTH. The Bureau agrees that the Lecturer shall be required
to do only a reasonable amount of traveling between engagements
ELEVENTH. The Lecturer shall have the right to veto the
publication of any advertisements or announcements to the form or
character of which he objects.
TWELFTH. The parties to this contract agree that payment
shall be made by the Bureau to the Lecturer or his representative as
follows:
A. The sum of six hundred dollars ($600.00) or a proportionate
amount of the monthly guarantee shall be paid by the Bureauto the Lextur
er on Saturday of each week, over and above transportation expenses of
the Lecturer.
B. On every fourth Saturday, following the beginning of the
lecture tour, a statement of receipts and expenditures of the tour to
such date, showing the amount then due to the Lecturer, shall be sent
to him with whatever balance may be due him in accordance with the
terms of this agreement.
THIRTEENTH. If the Lecturer should be unable through ill-
ness to fulfill any engagement made for him by the Bureau, the guarantee
and any other payments due to the Lecturer shall be proportionately
reduced, but the Lecturer shall not be subject to any further financial
penalty by reason of the cancellation of dates on account of illness.
The Lecturer agrees, however, to exercise every reasonable precaution
and endeavor to fulfill the engagements contracted for him.
FOURTEENTH. In case of a lecture sold at a fixed fee, the
amount of that fee shall not be less than $300.00 except by the
specific consent of the Lecturer.
FIFTEENTH. The Lecturer agrees to extend this contract to a
longer period than three months on the same terms as those of this agree-
ment in case he decided to lecture further in America.
SIXTEENTH. The Lecturer agrees not to make any public appear-
anoes while in America during the period of this agreement or prior thereto,
except in accordance with the terms of the agreement or with the approval
of the Bureau.
