Mk 146 fuze assembled in the base of the 5.0 Rocket Body Mk 1. It is shown armed. The diaphragm has been collapsed by pressure in the pressure chamber, forcing the plunger forward and shearing the shear wire. Release of the locking ball has enabled the firing spring to withdraw the firing pin from the 506 shutter. The detonator is aligned with the firing pin. On -68- impact, inertia of the firing pin body will drive the firing pin into the detonator and fire the fuze. RESTRICTED DECLASSIFIED BY E.O. 13526, SECTION 3.3
