HARTNESSs S CREW THREAD COMPARATOR
Showing work holder with two threaded cradles.
One of these cradles is clamped rigidly in position, the other
is free to slide endwise of the screw SO as to accommodate vari-
ation in lead of screws.
The fixed cradle is located at a distance from the projecting
lens that equals the length of engagement of the screw either in a
nut or in the thread hole.
This location of the fixed cradle determines the extent of the
side shift of the shadow on the tolerance chart.
