In reply you are advised that the last listof this type
published by this office was completed in 1940. Only sufficient
copies were made, however to meet the needs of the office and
there are no copies of either the 1930 or 1940 lists available
Puge no 2- 600 Entra Copies
for general distribution.
It may be stated that the annual reports of the Comptroller
of the Currency, copies of which are no doubt available at the
public library of any of the larger cities, contain detailed in-
formation relating to national banks organized and closed during
the period covered by each such report and it is possible that

the data you desire can be obtained either from this source or
from the various bankers' directories, copies of which should be
available at your local bank or at the public library of your city.

For each bank, the list gives the corporate name of the bank; the bank charter number; the city, county, the state where it was located; and, if it was closed, brief remarks about what happened to the bank.
