JONAH J.GOLDSTEIN
366 BROADWAY
NEW YORK
cicition (1913)
3rd
1607
New York, March 24th, 1917.
Miss Anne Rochester,
Children's Bureau,
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Rochester:
You have no doubt heard of the
arrest of Margaret Sanger, for disseminat-
ing "Birth Control" information, and you
probably know that she did this with a
view to arousing interest in the question
of "Birth Control" so that better laws
could be made. In trying to defend her, I
find it very necessary to have statistics
relating to large families among poor people.
Would you be kind enough to see whether there
is any such material gathered in your bureau
and forward to me anything that you think
could be used in along this line.
Has there been any statistics
gathered on the prevalency of abortion?
Very truly yours,
JJG/PB.
