Mar Department, ADJUTANT GENERAL'S OFFICE, Washington, March 19, 1874 (Circular Letter.) major P.T.Suaine, 2 Infty, Disbursing officer St. douis, Ins. Major: Referring to the paragraph of Circular (copy herewith) from this Office of September 7, 1872, which describes the use to be made of the Register of Claims," I have to request that you will report to this Office whether you promptly transcribe therein the lists of claims received by you, and, if so, whether such record is regularly supplemented with the record of the payment to the claimant, or of such other disposition as is made of the funds in the respective cases, sa that said Register shall present, as is designed, a complete and authentic record of all money received and disbursed, whether by payment to the claimant, by transfer, or otherwise Very respectfully, Your obedient servant, Adjutant General.
