I'm
An examination of the Report of the 2? comp
troller on the subject of the claim of major william Thanp
assigned to me by an instrument depended in your office
with the openion of the atty general upon it having satisfied
my mind that donce unaccuraciis as to
matters of fact had occured, m. Thousten the Comptroller
and m. Robb who performed your duties during your
absence made a full cives stipation into the care and
concured with the in this conclusion they both agreed
that but for the opinion of the atty General based api
these error they would unkes lating by dirut the pay-
ment of the money claima. a letter addressed by me
to in Robe at his unlance fumis his a view of these
mistakes. and if it should. coincide with your views
I would beg leave to ask either that the errors in
fact may lc conceted and the true slate of the care
be submitted to the att, gen! for his
report, or that upon giving him the assurance that
luck errors here been committed be be requested
to withdraw an openin which how interpores the
only known obs laele to the dittlement of this claim
very unputfully
