I am however urged from con. tions injustice to myself and therefore begleave respectfully, to submit the following remarks for your information and consideration to with - The Bureau of Indian affairs was created in March 1824 by Mr. balhoun then Secretary of war and placed in the charge of Led MiKeuney to whose aid Mr. Hamilton s my self were then afsigned. Ever since that period I have been most afsiduously and laboriously occupied in the faithful performance of the duties agsigned to me - and that too, not confined to the allotted office hours, but frequently, very frequently at my own fere side of Candle light par-
