Letter from J.H. Stephenson, Boston, [Massachusetts], to William Lloyd Garrison, 1864 Nov[ember] 29
J.H. Stephenson writes to William Lloyd Garrison about a plan proposed to him by John M. Forbes to raise money to purchase a Christmas present for George Thompson. He states that Forbes "proposes to issue a circular referring to the opinions of eminent Englishmen as the value of Mr. T's services in England" to help raise funds, and asks Garrison to send him "a collection of the most valuable of these 'opinions'".
