Source Description
Nathan Meriam writes a letter accompanying and explaining his address and discussion delivered at the Chardon Street convention in November 1840. He argues, with quotations from Scripture, that a Sabbath-day is not recognized in the constitution of the New Testament. No Sabbath-breaker is listed among the evil-doers in the Epistles, and the Apostles are not known to have instructed converts about keeping the Sabbath. He makes additions to the original address and suggests that if the manuscript arrives too late for publication, the "Non Resistant" or the "Liberator" might give its publicity.
