Source Description
Charles Calistus Burleigh writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to expressing strong disapproval of the "English mission" of John A. Collins and wishes it might still be abandoned. James MIller McKim agrees with James and Lucretia Mott, who "think it exceedingly injudicious that Collins will hardly get enough to pay his expenses." He also writes his views of the American society, saying "we are somewhat in debt & just now our expenses are returning over receipts. The principal part of the burden has fallen on the city."
