Source Description

James Gillespie Birney writes to Amos A. Phelps that he may not be able to attend the annual meeting in Boston due to the expected childbirth of his wife, but Stanton should be able to. Birney says that “the legislature of Massachusetts might be brought up, this year, to the point of recommending immediatism,” and that they need to pursue this. He then goes on discussing a petition they have been working on.
