Letter from Samuel May, Jr., Leicester [Mass.], to Wendell Phillips Garrison, Sept. 13, 1867
Samuel May Jr. asks Wendell Phillips Garrison whether he would like to see an “excellent” note William Lloyd Garrison sent to May about “A. M. Powell’s application on his Brooklyn address.” May then discusses at length the National Anti-Slavery Standard’s refusal to publish his response to the paper’s accusation that he (May) had misdirected funds for the antislavery causes.
