Source Description

William Harned writes to Amos A. Phelps, who is visiting Haiti, to give news from home. After discussing some financial affairs at the office, Harned talks about their mutual acquaintances, including the Hutchinsons who were recently mobbed out of Philadelphia for not excluding the black from their concerts, and Mr. Whipple, the new Secretary of the American Missionary Association, with whom Harned is getting along very well.
