In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Edward Kendall Jr. discusses whether or not his society should hold an additional meetings other than the annual meetings. He cites articles in the society’s constitution and asks for Phelps’s opinion. In a segment added later, Kendall talks about a woman who passed through his area some weeks ago with a young child to escape slavery, and gives her brief history.
