Letter from John C. Lewis, Terrysville, to Amos Augustus Phelps, 17th March 1836
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, John C. Lewis expresses his concern that, since not many people in his town will be inclined to sign Phelps’s circular at the present time, collecting signatures there at this time could do more harm than good for the cause.
