Esther Sturge has not quite recovered from an attack of influenza; her brother has just recovered from the same complaint. Sturge asks about the Female Emancipation Society. Sturge writes: "Remonds sister wrote me quite importuning to aid it & Mrs. Taylor wife of an M.P. also." Sturge's friends go on collecting money to aid the poor colored people.
