Scabbard
The flaring, boat-shaped upper section of this scabbard is intricately decorated with vegetal scrollwork likely derived from the <em>okir</em> designs typical of the Maranao or Maguindanao people. The lower portion of the sheath is unadorned, highlighting the natural grain of the dark hardwood.
