My dear Mrs. Bottenberg:
In reply to your letter, we only wish that
ye had some encouraging information to send you regard-
ing e position with our Public Health Nursing Service
3
or as an instructor of our classes in Home Hygiene and
Care of the Sick.
We have many more applications for positions
than we have positions to offer; however, we would advise
you to get in touch with our Midwestern Branch Office.
Your letter should be addressed to
Mrs. Elsbeth H. Vaughan,
Director of Nursing Service,
Midwertern Branch Office,
The American Red Cross,
1709 Washington Avenue,
St. Louis, Missouri.
If you inform Mrs. Vaughan that you are an enrolled Red
Cross nurse and are anxious to locate a position, if there
is none directly under the American Red Cross she mey be
able to advise you regarding the possibility of securing
work under the F.E.R.A. in the State of Illinois. She
will be informed about the situation in Illinois and able
to give you the name of the person to whom you should apply.
Very truly yours,
Clars D. Noyes,
Director of Nursing,
National Headquarters.
