Extract of a Letter from Miss Anderson to [Clara] Noyes

Extracted from letter from Miss Anderson to Miss Noyes, June 26, 1924. " It seems best that the Superintendent be chosen and that she selects her own associates, There was so much delay in finding a Superintendent that I felt it would be better that I found the one nurse for the position of Supervisor and get her established. For this position I mentioned Miss Lentell, Miss LeGros and Miss Von Kurowsky, The full staff here will be the three above mentioned and the Public Health Nurse - four in all. The supplementary positions would be occupied by graduates of the school and the necessary Turkish instructor. I hear that Miss Lentell will not be able to come; Miss LeGros is quite weary of hospital work. Now that you understand for which position I wish Miss Von Kurowsky will you let me know about her? Margaret Cowling has also written me. I answered her and discouraged her coming. I would personally like very much to have her with me but to leave her here I am not so sure will work. She surely had had sufficient experience to carry the school work but I am absolutely sure that the whobe position is much more than she would wish to tackle. It is really a position for two persons with this big hospital plan t, but naturally running a daily average of only forty patients the work does not justify so many heads. It is quite unfortunate that the business is so low and that there are several reasons for this.
