The Whitee Housee

Washington, D.C.
Dear President Eisenhower:
(Please, Secnetanies, let this letter pass: to the addressee
I request myy civil right to contact my leader im the only wey
possible formm am humble citizem.)
You have been in my ppayens lately. Ii a.m. a mother of school
children greatly concerned for the physical safety of my childi-
ren evem abovee a good education, which has beem our ultimate
goal in life Im this Democnacy with equality, freedoms and the
pursuit of happiness ass a foundation; is itt true that w.es would
be
forced to endanger ( the health, mental attitude and the veryy
lives ) our childnem against our will? To sacrifice in war is:
horrible enough but this will fam surpass any youth gang
war
and the loss will be youns and eveny citizen's
Children are becoming more conscious of the differences
in races tham ever before, fathers ane promising their sons
protection im the form of guns 9 mothers ane: weeping to think
of the daughters who will be exposed to veneneal disease germs
and the immoral ways of life that destroy home life.I believe
you arec doing what you think is hest for the entire countiry
and that with guidance from Godi you will do right negandless
of umpopularity at home on abnoadi. Our forefathens did not:
take advice from othern countries as to how to gowern this nation
they realized our problems wene specific and had to be met by
locali contact. Ii have touned West Point: but I would not pres
sumes
to
give you any military advices, howevern I know of whaet
II speak in this letter im no way that you possibly could.
Nathions rise and falli. At a certain peak of prosperity
decline is preceded by an intermingling of naces, which is
not in accord with God's laws. He does not want intermarmiage:
nor contributing factors. Separatte and equali education facil-
ities ane wanted by both races if givem as chance to say so.
