z Y/A September 24, 1957 President Eisenhower % White House Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. President: The "Little Rock" crisis has made me realize how much support you need from just ordinary citizens. This letter is just to let you know all decent Americans are behind you 100%. Please don't back down now. The ignorant, narrow-minded white citizens of Little Rock and their immature actions make me ashamed to admit I have many fine southern relatives and friends. Let them keep their precious white children out of school for as long as they want to. Their children will be the only sufferers. I wonder if anyone has ever told them that all colors and nationalities will be "going to school" together in Heaven. May God bless you in all your trials and tribulations. Respectfully, Helen m. aminting (mrs.) Helen Armstrong Lincoln Park, Michigan
