Dear Sir,
Recently I read a report on the dismissal of Mr. Doug wead
and feel I must write to express my alarm over the disposal of
such a man for taking a stand on a position of morality.
I question the integrity of our President for the release
of one who embodies the thoughts and opinions of a vast majority
of citizens in this country who support moralistic views, and I
am concerned over a president who would choose to silence our voices
by such an act. I urge you, sir, to impress upon our president that
he is listening to wrong counseling.
Further, I would like to stress that many people are in favour
of the re-instatement of Mr. wead, and I would welcome this retention
post haste.
respectfully,
Christme P. Dallas

Dear Mr President Bush:
This is to in form you that we do not support your
decision to fire Doug Wead from his position. We feel as
conservative Republicans and Baptist that the religious and
conservative views of many Americans are being over looked
and swept under the rug.
This action shows that the views of some very loud, liberal
groups that are not promoting the interests of our nation as
a whole, but their own, are being catered to, over and above
what most Americans believe and stand for.
We need Doug Wead back in the White House! We
Support Dong Wead and his positions and views!

Dear President Bush,
We were so discouraged when we heard that Doug Wead is no longer
one of your aides. He is such a dynamic, balanced person and we felt
so good about him being a liason for you with the Christian community.
We really believed that he had our best interests as well as the
country's at heart and he is such a level headed man.
That was confirmed when we saw him on the Trinity Broadcasting
Network's show on Sept. 11th, 1990. He is still one of your most
loyal supporters even though he had just been released. We find it
hard to believe that you could dismiss such a terrific person! If
you could just get hold of a tape of that interview with Paul and Jan Crouch
from that show, you would see what marvelous input you are missing out
on by no longer having him in the White House.
Could you please reconsider this decision and bring him back on
your staff? He really is an exceptional man of God and you need to
know the wisdom that God has given to him.
Thank you for your concern in this matter.
God's Best,
Elaine & Gary Wiepking
P.S. We pray for you and Mrs. Bush daily. We also pray for the other
leaders of our government, too.

As Christians and Conservatives who voted for you and promoted you,
we are very upset at the firing of Mr. Doug Wead. We know he is
very strongly opposed to homosexuals and lesbians who tear apart

strong stand on this, and correct the matter. Our prayers are with
you in such a difficult job.

Dear Mr. President:
I am a conservative and a lifelong Republican. I admire you and respect
you for the stand that you are taking in the current international crisis.
However, I have a GREAT concern and am VERY confused with the facts
concerning the departure of Mr. Doug Wead from your staff. Mr. Wead's letter
properly diverted heat away from you and placed it on the staff. What is the
staff for? Has it become a prima donna unwilling to take criticism? More
importantly, what does this whole incident mean for conservatives?
Even if you have abandoned your stand for family values and are now
consciously welcoming homosexual groups into the fold, nothing in Mr. Wead's
letter hurt you more than the way Mr. Demarest, Ms. Killberg, and Mr. Sununu
have handled Mr. Wead's departure. Mr. Wead is right, your staff did not serve
you well on the Hate Crimes Act. These liberal groups have fought you all
their lives and they will continue to oppose you.
Don't ever abandon the principles that you enunciated in your campaign.
Come back to your promises. I will continue to pray that God will place Godly
men and women around you as advisors.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. President:
As strongly committed Republicans who have supported you at
the polls and financially through the National Republican
Congressional Committee and other special task forces we are
deeply concerned over the recent removal of Doug Wead from
your White House Staff.
How much longer will we allow those with minority views to
stomp all over those who represent the majority of the
people in this country? We feel it is imperative that you
establish your leadership within the White House as well as
outside in the more traditional political arena..
We feel Doug Wead was entirely correct and proper in his
position and would like to know that you agree and are
willing to support those who support you.

Dear Mr. President,
I write to you as a democratic citizen of this country
to express my concern over something that could greatly
affect the future of this country. It has come to my attention
that Doug Wead has been released from his position of spiritual
advisor. You know as well as I do, Mr. President, that this
country was founded on traditional Christian beliefs. It is
devastating to see how this great nation has turned away from
its' roots. The release of Doug Wead is evidence of the
continual moral decay of this country.
Mr. President, as a fellow believer I'm sure you know
the importance of Divine Direction in leading a nation. You
can be sure that prayer is being lifted up to God all over
the country for you as well as for this nation. Yet how can
God complete his will in this nation if there is no one to
hear His call? Releasing Doug Wead meant releasing an
instrument of God placed in a very critical and strategic
position.
There is no doubt that your job is a very strenuous one
and I'm glad that you have personally chosen to seek God's
help. But how much more could be accomplished with a man
of God at your access for council?
So I ask you to prayerfully consider the reinstatement
of Doug Wead to his rightful position. This nation can be
changed if God's people will get involved. So here's one of
God's people getting involved, praying that it will cause a
chain reaction. I pray that your time in office will leave
Godly imprints which will last until His return.
God Bless You.
Sincerely,
Gamil Cain

Dear President Bush,
I am appalled to learn of the firing of Doug Wead. It is
unfortunate for the institution of the traditional American family
that homosexual and lesbian leaders were invited to the White
House when you signed the hate crimes bill.
The fact that these individuals who hold such disdain for family
values were invited to the signing of this bill is a slap in the
face to the traditional family which our country was built upon.
We need protection for the family not the tearing down and
redefinition of the family which is their agenda.
My feeling is that the people responsible for inviting the
anti-family homosexual and lesbian leaders to the White House are
the ones who should be fired.
I know Doug has outstanding principles and, further, what a shame
to lose his expertise in the White House.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Bush,
I am writing to you to express my conceern about the
dismissal of your special liason, Doug Wead. When I heard of his
dismissal, and the reasons for it, I was deeply disappointed.
One of the reasons I supported your candidacy was because I
felt you would stand up to special interest groups and not bow to
their inordinate pressure and loud-mouth tactics.
I believe you to be a person of sensitivity and integrity,
and as President, I believe you desire to safeguard the integrity
and morals of our nation. When you invite groups such as the gay
and lesbian coalitors that you have invited in, you are, in
effect, being an advocate of their agenda.
I know you will not neglect their rights as individuals, but
I hope yo will not bow to the pressure these groups are trying
to exert on all of our leaders. These groups are only loud, not
large.
If it is possible, please reconsider the dismissal of Mr.
Wead. He is a good man, and he continues to serve you well in
spite of his dismissal. Please stand up for what you know is
proper and ethical.
You have my support and, I am convinced, millions more just
like me.

I have recently received a number of letters from Long

Dear Mr. President,
I am extremely concerned about the firing of Doug Wead from the White House.
Also, I am very concerned about the fact that radical Liberal groups are
embracing the White House. Where have all the traditional conservative values
gone?
As a Christian businessman, I have supported you in the past and pray that you
don't abandon your principles that you made open to us during your campaign.
I really believe the wrong person was fired and you should be concerned about
the growing infiltration of such groups as the National Gay and Lesbian Task
Force in the White House and the influence that they seem to have over some
people in and close to your staff who have no backbone to stand up for
what is right. I believe some people did not like Mr. Wead (and forced him
out because of it) because he did stand up for what is right and did it without
fear and intimidation. I also know that he stood by you when you needed his
support.

I read an article in the "Concerned Women for America" October
1990 issue that states your Special Assistant for Public Liaison
was fired due to some miscommunication with the National Gay Task
Force represenatatives. Sir, I ask that in all fairness this
issue be investigated as to why Mr. Doug Wead was fired. Was his
dismissal for true misconduct or just to appease some Gay Task
Force leaders that might have been offended by something that Mr.
Wead did not intend.
