WHILE
THERE ARE NUMEROUS AREAS OF MUTUAL INTEREST BETWEEN OUR TWO NATIONS,
THE POPULARITY OF JAZZ IN BOTH FRANCE AND THE U.S. IS UNDISPUTED.

THE LADY WHO WILL ENTERTAIN US TONIGHT HAS JUST
RECEIVED THE FIRST JAZZ ACADEMY AWARD FROM YOUR COUNTRY.
SHE
IS AN INTERNATIONAL STAR OF STAGE, SCREEN, RADIO, AND TELEVISION.
HER RECORDS HAVE SOLD IN THE MILLIONS.
